Classes, circles and youth groups 15

Learning chess in the Tricity mostly happens in public institutions and school sports clubs. The Youth Palace in Gdańsk, on ul. Ogarna, runs chess workshops for children from six at several sites, the Youth Culture Centre in Gdynia has a chess studio with three levels, and the Youth Culture Centre in Sopot has offered classes for five- and six-year-olds as well as a holiday programme. Fabryka Kultury in Reda has listed free Saturday groups.

Libraries teach too: the Suchanino branch in Gdańsk has an instructor-led circle for teenagers and adults, the Biblioteka pod Kotem i Myszą in Wrzeszcz has held workshops for adults with sign-up, and Mały Kack in Gdynia has run free weekly workshops. Among the clubs, UKS Korona, UKS Gedanensis, Sg1 Wejherowo and WKS Flota teach children, and Szachowa Edukacja gives paid classes at Primary School No. 24.
