More about this list

Children have the widest choice of teaching in the area. The Youth Palace in Gdańsk teaches from the age of six, the chess studio of the Gdynia Youth Culture Centre takes pupils from beginners up to an advanced group on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday mornings, and the Sopot Youth Culture Centre has run classes for pre-school children of five and six. In Reda, Fabryka Kultury has listed free Saturday groups for children from seven.

School sports clubs carry on from there: UKS Korona Gdańsk runs classes, weekend training and camps, UKS Gedanensis organises training camps, and Klub Szachowy Sg1 in Wejherowo trains children three evenings a week. Primary School No. 24 in Gdańsk has Friday classes by Szachowa Edukacja for its own pupils, the Pomeranian Chess Association runs junior leagues, and the Mały Kack library in Gdynia has welcomed children to its free workshops.
